BAILEY PETE (2001) is a native of Gallup, New Mexico. She is member of the Navajo Nation and is also 1/3 Irish. Because of this Irish ancestry, Bailey often confronts this sense of dual identity and cultural awareness in her work. She also utilizes her gift of painting as form of art therapy, according to the British Association’s model.
